1 pound fresh asparagus spears (rinsed)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Steps
- Cut 1 inch from tough root end of asparagus spears and discard. To do this quickly, group half the spears together, align ends, and slice with sharp knife. Cut into 2-inch pieces and set aside.
- Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients in medium bowl. Add asparagus and toss to coat.
- Add asparagus (including oil) to pan; cook 4–5 minutes, stirring often, or until desired tenderness. Serve.
